Class information in AGENDA: • Students fill in the weeklong agenda every Monday • Any upcoming quizzes and tests will be written in agenda • If you notice your child is not keeping up with agenda writing, keep him/her accountable

Phones and devices: ALLOWED NOT ALLOWED • Kindles and e-readers for silent reading time • Texting, social media, gaming in class • Use of phones to set alarms and keep organized and calendared • Photos and videos of people at school (except for yearbook members) • Use of phones for photos of agenda, notes, passwords • • Use of phone as dictionaries, thesauruses Misuse of phones = warning, taken for period, then sent to office • LAPTOPS IN CLASS for many activities

Positive Behavior Rewards: • • • Students learned the new B. E. S. T. policies at PVIS during the first week of school. Study Sync Curriculum: Study Sync curriculum was adopted by PVPUSD last school year. • Study Sync curriculum has a physical workbook (kept in class) and an online interface. • HELPFUL SCHOOL SUPPLY: ear buds in the supply pouch. (I have a shared supply in class, too. ) Students can replay audio and video to answer questions. •

Weekly Homework: READING LOG • 20 minutes reading, Monday-Thursday • Fill in log daily, summary and activity • Parent signature on log • Sign by Thursday night

Occasional Homework: READING ASSIGNED PAGES IN CLASS NOVELS • Core books and novels will be read together as a class • Pages from core books assigned in place of 20 minutes reading • Core novels will be Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, Freedom Walkers by Russell Freedman, and a possible third novel TBD

Occasional Homework: PRINTING AND EDITING • Drafting is completed in Office 365 account in class • Printing documents as homework is occasional assignment • Editing documents will be required, if not done in class • Writing should only be done by student author ONLY
