Introduction to Travel & Tourism is made up of 3 units and is studied 3 periods a week through S 2 and S 3. There are 3 units to study and you will build up a travel ‘folio’ about different destinations. This course links directly to the National 4&5 Skills for Work Travel & Tourism course in the senior school. You will investigate a variety of different holiday locations around the world, discover different types of holiday on offer, learn how to plan & book a holiday using a range of brochures, be aware of extra costs involved and be able to deal with situations that may arise during a holiday.

1. Holiday Planning In Unit 1 you will become familiar with many different brochures and types of holidays. You will find out about supplements and other added costs.

2 Holiday Destinations In this Unit you will become familiar with British, European and Worldwide destinations. You will also discover that there are many different types of holiday. You will use brochures & atlases as well as developing your mapping skills.

3 Holiday Issues In this Unit you will learn how to deal with situations that may happen before or during a holiday. You will also find out about exchange rates and different methods of payment.
