Image registration using Mutual information • Introduction • We are not totally acknowledged about the data acquisition system so the behavior of the illumination source and the imaging sensor can not be explained directly. Shortly we have some weld images magnified and taken and we want to register the images into a common coordinate. The application can be regarded as a mosaicing process. The dimensions of the images are halved due to time considerations for the transformation parameter search steps. • The blending is not applied during registration. For a further improvement for this task it maybe blending of the registered images. Optimization is not used, heuristic search is applied using a finite range of parameter values of rotation, translation. It is assumed that there is no scaling change among the images. The evaluation can be done after image blending which is necessary to have a continuous texture. • Firstly images and secondly results of registration is introduced.
