IHI Open School Access If you are a Physician, Nurse or Staff Member - Contact Karen Davis to assist with registration. If you are a Resident/Intern, Student or Teacher/Professor (IHI identifies Faculty as Teacher/Professor) - Follow directions on slides below to assist with registration.

First go to the IHI web page. At the top of the page to the right, you will see “Log In/Register. If you are faculty within the SOM registration is free.

Once you have clicked on “Log In/Register, you will be taken to the Registration page where you will be prompted to either log in (to the left) or to register (to the middle and right). You will want to select “Complete Access”.

You will now be taken to a page where you enter some personal/professional information. Under “Personal Contact Information”, you will be asked to select a “Primary Role”. If you are Faculty of the SOM, you should select Teacher/Professor. This will give you free access to Open School.

You will now have access to IHI Open School and can start taking courses. Click on the Open School link:

You can now select to take a course.

IHI Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety These are the 13 modules to earn the Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety. Each module consists of multiple lessons and in total takes approximately 1. 5 hours to complete.
