Executive Summary The current system does not align with the needs of a modern and diverse scientific organization. This is not only a widely held view within UCAR/NCAR, but has been referenced as an area for improvement within the SVT and within the UCAR Workplace Culture Survey. We will implement a consistent and improved system to our early adopters by March 2018. This system will be used for their Performance Evaluation moving forward. Successive rollouts to occur across the organization. Performance Evaluation Project 3

Our approach to gathering input Facilitated, open-ended dialogues around each component (ongoing). 1. What do we want to preserve out of the current? 2. What are we looking for in the future? What changes would be necessary to accomplish this? Structured information gathering via questionnaire • To be deployed in January – Mix of qualitative and quantitative, informing both baseline and future state design GOAL: All interested staff have opportunity to provide input during this phase Performance Evaluation Project 7
