English • Today we are going to be looking at nonsense poems (silly poems!). • We do not expect these to make sense as poems usually do, or to be very serious!

Why is this a silly poem? Can you see how it uses opposites the wrong way around?

You are going to continue the poem. Your lines need to : • Be written in the past tense ( something has already happened) • Be a nonsense sentence ( Make no sense) Here are my examples: I had a nice swing on my slide. I listened to the flowers singing beautifully I walked down the hill to reach the highest point.
