1. Extending a contact… through the Contact Data Model • Contact information about an individual from their interactions across Channels, Devices & Websites • Contact Data Model contains • Facets • Each facet can contain • Attributes • Elements collection • 3 types of facets • System facets • Standard facets • Custom facets Contact Data Model is implemented using an Entity Model and configured in Sitecore configuration

Capturing a contact’s external interactions • The Need: Get a holistic view of the contact across different touchpoints, including non-Sitecore touchpoints, and use that information to deliver personalized content • Ex: interactions through CRM, call center, retail stores Register an External Interaction Define Outcomes in Marketing Control Panel Identify contact through a known identifier Programmatically register the outcome Use Sitecore’s Outcome. Manager API Use outcomebased personalization rules
