How I support students at school Emphasis on building positive classroom culture Provide supports for students to develop and grow as peer collaborators, improve organization and study skills, and build confidence as students of science Maintain a class website (http: //davidswart. org) where all class content is stored so students can access our in-class work outside of school Always available by email, daily before school, and after school on M/T/Th

How the family can support the student at home Ask your student to share

How the family can support the student at home Ask your student to share at least one thing they learned in chemistry class each day Ensure selfcare: students need to get plenty of sleep, eat healthy food, exercise their bodies, and have a quiet work space to study Students will have daily homework – please check Illuminate frequently and email me with any questions Remind your student to prepare for labs, including completing prelab work and wearing appropriate PPE Review the safety contract and syllabus with your student frequently, along with your student’s lab notebook, class work, study guides, and tests.
