Sin Separates us from God Relationally 1 John 3: 4 -10 4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. -verse 4: “makes a practice of sinning” -verse 6: “Keeps on sinning” -verse 6: “continues to sin” -verse 8: “does what is sinful”

The Answer to Sin Come to Jesus 1 John 2: 1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 1 John 2: 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
