Why do we need a Pedagogy Forum? § e-learning specifications are moving up from the infrastructural level and beginning to directly impact on pedagogical issues § important that the e-learning standards meet educational needs as well as fulfilling technical requirements § we need to generate a meaningful dialogue with those whose focus is on pedagogy. Future: 4 th Pedagogy Forum Meeting – A Framework for the Pedagogical Evaluation of VLEs Beginning of February, 2004. Venue to be arranged – any offers welcome! Discussions and feedback from previous meetings have suggested a meeting about e-learning scenarios and tools available. Report commissioned by JISC investigating the current situation and updating the findings, encourages the use of the models: • • develop requirements identify what people would ideally want from VLEs that support how they want to teach and learn. ” This workshop will: • present an overview of the key ideas in the new report provide a facilitated application of the framework to participants’ own experiences of using VLEs • explore the extension of the model for building scenarios and identifying requirements.
