AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE FORMS A quick look at common maintenance forms

Military aircraft maintenance are a part of the 781 series of forms Universal

Military aircraft maintenance are a part of the 781 series of forms Universal across multiple airframe platforms as well as service branches This allows for easier translatability between each of the service components Proper upkeep of forms documentation is crucial for maintenance technicians There is typically a binder for each aircraft tail number that contains the following: 781, 781 F, 781 H, 781 A, 781 J, and 781 K AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE FORMS

781 H Easily remembered as “How’s my jet” Contains aircraft flying status (grounded or flyable) Lists all major daily inspections related to flying Tracks aircraft daily flight times Reverse side details any servicing, to include fuel, oxygen, oil, and hydraulic fluid, for trend analysis.

781 K Used to track “K”alendar inspections These inspections are driven by either flying

781 K Used to track “K”alendar inspections These inspections are driven by either flying hours or calendar days Also used to detail any delayed discrepancies, which are ones that require extensive time to repair, but don’t affect airworthiness

SUMMARY Maintenance forms used to document discrepancies Each aircraft has a set of forms to include 781, 781 F, 781 H, 781 A, 781 J, and 781 K All maintenance technicians are responsible for the upkeep and accuracy of each form All military service branches use the same type of forms
