Transportation Demand Management Employer and Residential Trip Reduction Programs n The primary goal of the 511 Contra Costa (511 CC) Employer TDM Program is to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality through the reduction of single occupant car trips. n 511 CC provides technical assistance to employers and promotes the implementation of the 511 Contra Costa Countywide Incentive Programs. n Commuter Incentive Programs are available to residents as well as those who are employed anywhere in Contra Costa.

VMT Trip Reduction Strategies n n n Telework – 511 CC has info on formalizing a telework program Variable Work Hours - There are several types of Variable Work Hours programs: Compressed Work Week- Employees complete their required number of weekly hours in fewer days than the typical five-day workweek. For example, employees may work four 10 -hour workdays instead of the usual five 8 -hour workdays in one week. Flex-Time- Employees vary their start and end times while maintaining a core set of work hours. Staggered Work Schedules- Spread out the peak commuting period to relieve traffic congestion around the worksite.
