Training Working Group Mission and Scope l Drive Excellence in DOE training programs by promoting efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of the training function. l The TWG will take a leadership role in leveraging collaborative initiatives that support training. l The TWG will assist DOE in identifying areas of improvement l l l Assess and provide feedback concerning proposed policy/regulatory changes Introduce new or changed processes Gather information in support of proposals or initiatives related to training 3

Regulatory Reform Initiatives l l l Resurrect the training Guide to Good Practices documents – needed for the next generation of training leaders Identify training requirements (DOE Orders, CFRs) which add little or no value – collaborate with the National Laboratory Directors Committee Identify training drivers which can be streamlined – targeted audience, content, refresh periodicity 5

Cost Avoidance Initiatives l l l Maintain collaboration to expand reciprocity Leverage existing SME’s for mutual benefit of contractor community (EFCOG) Expand use of existing NIEHS grant opportunity 6
