General reminders • Year 3 drop off is from 8: 45 -9: 00 and

General reminders • Year 3 drop off is from 8: 45 -9: 00 and collection is from 3: 15 pm-3: 30 pm. • Children need to wash or sanitise their hands before coming into the school building. • PE days Tuesday and every other Thursday-Gorilla, Vaquita and Leopard. Wednesday and every other Thursday- Cheetah and Pangolin • KS 2 children currently change in school but this will be kept under review.

Reading • Reading books will be given out on a Tuesday and Friday to

Reading • Reading books will be given out on a Tuesday and Friday to allow for 72 hours decontamination. • Teachers will assess children’s reading skills during reading skills lessons. • Reading scheme. We aim to put children on books that are appropriate and interesting to their level of reading , but as mentioned previously numbers from our scheme may differ. • Use the reading records and write in when your child has read. Teachers will check regularly in the week and stamp to acknowledge effort. • Please sign these weekly and check for messages and your child’s homework. • Reading in year 3 is not just about decoding and reading words – it is about understanding what they have read.

Used in lessons and for teachers to record in school reading. • Maths - Homework given weekly (Times Tables Rock Stars) • English - Homework given (Reading Eggs – blue week. Written homework - yellow week) • Spelling – weekly test on Fridays. Time tables will be tested weekly. Pupils have to get 15/15 three times before getting their certificate and moving onto the next times table. • Times tables - weekly

Independent Learning • The children will be completing independent learning at home on Friday

Independent Learning • The children will be completing independent learning at home on Friday afternoon. The children will complete 6 projects over the year, one each half term. Our first project is “Generate a deign for the Year 3 Mindfulness Garden”. This project will take 6 weeks. The following 5 activities are termly projects to be completed each half term. The optional activities can be completed at anytime. Children will be able to make notes in class on a Friday before they go home and these notes will assist them in their learning at home.
