Introduction of new Surgical Departure Lounge (SDL) Positive impact on patients being discharged from an area set up to achieve this, which in turn facilitates post operative patients being transferred to the ward earlier in the day, which positively allows nursing staff to facilitate ERAS principles at an appropriate stage in patients recovery. Dedicated senior nurse responsible for discharge process One area receiving and chasing all TTA’s Room available to carry out removal of drains, catheters etc and for privacy of discharge information.
