Volunteering work: Food distribution (5 hours) About red Crescent : Ø Red Crescent Movement is a multinational humanitarian movement based in Switzerland. It has more than 97 million members from all the word. Ø It partners with International Red Cross society to offer services to the victims of natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunami and floods, victims of terror attacks and victims of political instability in developing country especially in the Middle East and in Africa (Bürger and Thomas, 2015). Ø This movement receives aid from rich countries’ governments, business owners or any other person who has the capacity to help.

Food distribution My Preparations Ø I had to come up with a schedule. I made up my mind that weekend is the best time for me. I had to go to Al Ruwais. Ø I needed proper time management, my plan was to volunteer on one weekend. I completed all my weekly tasks on Friday evening because I wanted Saturday to be a free day for me. Ø I left my home on Saturday morning and went direct to Al Ruwais and joined Red Crescent movement I didn’t need a lot things. I only needed my phone for communication commination services. How I spent my day at Al Ruwais. Ø All the food staff was ready. Red Crescent movement had collected the enough amount and now it was our turn to play our part. Ø We were divided into groups and each group was supposed to distribute food to a number of labors. Ø The day was interesting and everyone was happy due to that activity. Ø After five hours, we were done. I ate my lunch and took one extra hour to make new friends. I left Al Ruwais at 2 in the afternoon, as there was task that waiting for me.

Food distribution Reasons behind choosing Red Crescent Ø I chose Red Crescent because of it an international movement. Ø It operates in all countries, and its response to disasters is fast to ensure that there is minimal or no loss of life. Ø Being an International Relation and I want to enhance my skills, I had to do a lot of research on which volunteering movement I should join. Ø It is recognized worldwide, and it has branches in all countries. Ø When working for Red Crescent, I may have a chance to interact with citizens of any country, and through this, I can be familiar with the culture of that country.

Cleaning the desert with Cleanco Company (5 hours). My Preparations Ø Cleanco is a well-known company and everyone can wish to be associated with it. Ø A volunteering thought came into my mind. I called Cleanco and asked them to let me participate in desert cleaning campaign. Ø I did not need much preparations. I only waited for that day.

Cleaning the desert with Cleanco Company How I spent my day at Cleanco Ø On Saturday very early in the morning, I was in their main office. I was ready to volunteer. The management gave a pair of gloves, nose mask, a brush and a detergent. Ø I started in cleaning the desert by collecting the cans , empty plastics and some solid staff on the sand. Ø The whole activity took five hours only. After I was done with cleaning, I returned the gloves, brush nose mask and the detergent. Reasons for Choosing Cleanco Ø This company has a good shares in terms of community service campaigns. Ø For a long time, I have been wishing to volunteer in any activity that is aimed at giving back to the community and exercising my passion to see our deserts clean.

Ø Cleanco is one of them and it the best among them. Cleaning services require a lot of dedication and knowledge. Ø It offers services such residential and commercial cleaning, facility management and housemaid services. It uses the latest technological skills to offer cleaning solutions to their clients. My Preparations Ø Got the approval from the manager to participate in the campaign. Ø Arranged the activity to be in weekend when there are minimal activities in the company headquarters. They told me that they would show me where to clean and they were willing to provide me with the requirements.

Cleaning side walk with Cleanco Company My Operations on that day Ø That day finally came, I went to their headquarters ready to work for that company. Ø They asked me if I am comfortable to wash the sideway. I said yes, and the operational manager gave me the bloom, a bucket, detergents, piped water and protective gears such as gloves and gumboots. Ø It didn’t take long to do so, and four hours later, I was done, and they were very happy, as I did a perfect job. Reasons behind choosing Cleanco Ø Cleanco is the best company in United Arab Emirates and I like their services. Ø I liked what they were doing, giving back to the society by making sure that homes and offices are clean and the country has a beautiful appearance with no litter all over. Ø They were doing, demonstrating their ability in cleaning operations and to me, this was a marketing strategy and I wanted to learn a number of things from that operation. Ø Volunteering is a way of bringing people together and whey they are together, they share great ideas with each other. Ø For a long time, I have been wishing to volunteer in any activity that is aimed at giving back to the community and exercising my democratic right of keeping our country clean. Through this, I can be proud to say that I am a good citizen who is willing to protect and serve my country by keeping it clean and beautiful.
