Temperature control circuit Jacob D’Avy
Goal • The goal is to create a system that can maintain a constant temperature across a resistor. • The application will be to calibrate a thermal camera. Slide 2
Thermal camera data • Thermo. Vision Micron camera • 164 x 128 uncooled sensor array • User’s guide is located here: • http: //imaging. utk. edu/research/jdavy/references/thermal. Camera/412 -0006 -10. pdf • I have created a GUI in Visual Studio which can capture and display images from thermal camera. Slide 3
Constant temperature circuit • The circuit diagram was taken from the website: http: //www. solorb. com/elect/constemp/ • The current status is that there is fluctuation of the temperature value within about +-1 degree Celsius. Probe-Temp 45. 2 Temperature (C) 45 44. 8 44. 6 44. 4 Probe-Temp 44. 2 44 43. 8 25 Slide 4 26 28 30 31 Minutes after powering on 33 35
Raytek thermometer • Temperature measurements were made using a Raytek IR thermometer. • The user’s guide is available on my website: http: //imaging. utk. edu/research/jdavy/references/thermal. Camera/MX 4_51500_E 1_Rev. H_LR. pdf • A temperature probe can be used along with the IR sensor. • There is also some software for temperature logging that is installed on the laptop. • I have also added code to my GUI for thermal camera so that the temperatures can be captured and stored with thermal video data.
