TEMPERATURE Average temperature of 20 -30 oc is favorable for cultivation of paddy. But sometime boro paddy is seen to be cultivated 15 oc temperature. RAINFALL Heavy rainfall from 100 - 200 cm in average is necessary for paddy cultivation. In every month it requite 12 cm rainfall for growth of young plants. MOISTURE Though much humidity in the air is necessary for the growth of young plants but dry condition of weather is a must during harvesting time.
SOIL Paddy grown well in the fertile silted soil of river valley. It is also cultivated in loam, clay loam and clay soil.
LAND Plain land is ideal for paddy cultivation. In hill areas paddy is cultivated by cutting the ridge.
INFRUSTRUCTURE AND ECONOMIC CONDITION
LABOUR Paddy is a labour based crop. In this cultivation the use of machine is very limited. For this reason plenty of skilful labour is necessary.
Sufficient capital is required to purchase high productive seeds, fertilizer and pesticides.
Adequate irrigation is required. The cultivation of Boro paddy depends on good irrigation.
HIGH PRODUCTIVE SEEDS, FERTILIZER, PESTICIDES Good supply of high productive seeds, fertilizer and pesticide is required to increase the production of paddy crop.
TRANSPORT Improve transport and proper distribution system can make paddy crop much profitable.
