What didn’t work Raising our profile The website – people didn’t look at it All about me, not about the service Emphasis on my skills and knowledge rather than what the Library could do for innovation IP database Excel spreadsheet and totally reliant on staff finding me, not a systematic record of innovation in the Trust Time management On top of the day job
What did work! Executive buy-in (eventually…) Regular quarterly meetings – direct access to TEG Raising our profile Innovation pages to be added to the intranet HEE Closer ties mean more opportunities for training and promotion of the role and networking with other scouts Sponsorship of Dragons and Shining Lights Mutually beneficial relationship Dragons To be incorporated into Shining Lights annually HMIU To be re formatted to form the basis of the monthly report to the Board
West Suffolk Dragons This process ensures that all innovations are filtered by the library first. We carry out literature searches or other types of research to test the viability of an idea and to gather as much information as possible for TEG. We are independent of both the innovator and TEG, but we will seek to find as much evidence as possible to support an idea.
Thanks for listening Any questions?
