Background ● SF is a Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project Round 1 grantee ● $30 M public-private to end homelessness for 500 youth through Rapid Rehousing and 450 youth via Problem Solving ● ~$15 M raised to date and another $15 M to go! ● Partners include SF City Departments, youth employment and workforce development providers , and housing providers www. pointsourceyouth. org
Rising Up Steering Committee ● Membership includes: Larkin Street Youth Services, Brilliant Corners, Tipping Point Community and the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) ● Membership driven by content expertise ● Meetings twice a month to guide the implementation of Rising Up, including funding allocation decisions, program design, fundraising updates www. pointsourceyouth. org

Subsidy Model ● Draft plan includes a flat $27, 000 available to each youth over a maximum 36 month period of time ● Youth decide how much to pay each month and partner with case management and Brilliant Corners to set amount ● Youth may cash out up to $7, 500 of the $27, 000! ● Incentive is to motivate youth to increase income and connect to education ● Financial literacy skill building included with incentive www. pointsourceyouth. org
Housing Locator Services & Rental Assistance ● HSH centralizing housing locator services for housing subsidy programs ● Use a consistent set of tools to acquire units in private market ● Brilliant Corners focuses on securing units, and case management assists with housing navigation and ensuring youth are document ready ● Additional support to support tenant-landlord relationship ● Brilliant Corners administers rental assistance and pays for move-in costs: first month’s rent, security deposit, furniture. www. pointsourceyouth. org
Case Management ● Four case management providers work closely with Brilliant Corners to assist youth with moving into their homes ● Create housing stability plans in partnership with youth ● Lead on roommate matching ● Provide connection to services in the tenant’s community www. pointsourceyouth. org
