演講公告 Prof. Yue Kuo Texas A&M University http: //yuekuo. tamu. edu 時間: 11 /27(二) 早上10: 00 地點:國立交通大學田家炳階梯教室 Topic: Solid State Incandescent Light Emitting Devices (SSI-LEDs) Abstract The solid-state incandescent light emitting device (SSI-LED) was invented in 2011 and first reported in 2013 by the speaker’s group. The status of this kind of device is reviewed with respect to the structure, materials, fabrication process, physics, optical characteristics, and reliability. The principle of light emission from the SSI-LED is thermal excitation of nano-resistors surrounded by the high-k dielectric during the passage of the current. The emission spectrum of the SSI-LED convers the whole visible and part of the IR wavelength range independent of the original dielectric material or the inclusion of nanocrystals in the dielectric structure. The light characteristics, such as the CCT, CRI, and chromaticity, are similar to those of the incandescent light. The warm white light emitted from this kind of device can be used in a wide range of lighting, on-chip interconnect, and other applications. Short bio Yue Kuo is the Dow Professor at Texas A&M University. Previously, he worked in industry, i. e. , IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and Silicon Valley. He received BS from National Taiwan University and Dr. Eng. Sci. from Columbia University. His honors include the Gordon E. Moore Medal, Fellow of IEEE, ECS, and AVS, as well as many other awards. His 2 -volume TFT book is widely used in universities and industry. Prof. Kuo is the current President of the ECS. 本次演講主辦、協辦單位會員與學生免費,歡迎踴躍參加。 報名網址: http: //t. cn/EAZg 21 b 主辦單位: 協辦單位:
