Portfolio Review Ø The purpose of a portfolio review is to: Ø Assess the extent the documentation reveals the programme group’s degree of reflection on the quality of their education provision Ø Subject the documentation to a critical analysis, with the aim of getting as close as possible to the “real state of affairs” in that programme Ø Thus this exercise involves more than just ticking off whether or not the programme group responded to an evaluative question. Roles Ø Whereas it is essential for the review committee to study the documentation in its entirety, possible focus areas could include: Ø The chairperson focuses on the sections relevant to leadership, policy and strategy, business results and impact on society. Ø The quality expert focuses on sections relevant to customer and market focus, resource and information management, partnership performance and customer satisfaction Ø The academic peer and the technical expert focus on the sections relevant to people management, teaching and learning processes, student performance, research output, and people satisfaction.
