John 10: 22 -28 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch. 24 Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly. " 25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. 26 "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. 27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

2 Corinthians 3: 12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech. The Apostles spoke plainly, as did the Lord Himself “For the king, before whom I also speak freely, knows these things; for I am convinced that none of these things escapes his attention, since this thing was not done in a corner. ” (Acts 26: 26) (Festus/Agrippa)

How to Be Saved from Sins “You will run people off!” But, people desire to know: “What Must I Do to be Saved” Acts 2: 37 -38; Acts 16: 30 -31

Acts 2: 37 -38 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do? ” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ”

Acts 16: 30 -31 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? ” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. ”

The Nature of the Church of Christ (cf. Matthew 16: 18) “This is too hard and offensive!” But, the church is a vitally important aspect of God’s scheme of Redemption Eph. 5: 23 -25; Acts 20: 28; Eph. 1: 22 -23; 4: 4

Ephesians 5: 23 -25 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.

Acts 20: 28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

Ephesians 1: 22 -23; 4: 4 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. (4: 4) There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling.

Assembled Worship is Required of Christians (Hebrews 10: 25) “You’re going to hurt someone’s feelings” “At least I am here some of the time!” Too many have become slack in attending Bible classes and worship Psalm 122: 1; Matthew 6: 33

Psalm 122: 1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD. ”

Matthew 6: 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Christians are Called to Godly Living (cf. Romans 12: 1 -2) “I am tired of hearing about it!” But, we must abstain from every form of evil to please God Titus 2: 11 -12; 1 Thessalonians 5: 21 -22

Titus 2: 11 -12 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.

1 Thessalonians 5: 21 -22 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

A Judgment is Coming! “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10: 31) “You are trying to scare people!” But, we will be raised from the dead and judged. Preparation is needed! John 5: 28 -29; 2 Corinthians 5: 10 -11

John 5: 28 -29 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

2 Corinthians 5: 10 -11 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

Conclusion Plain preaching is not designed to offend… rather to convict the sinner to the salvation of his soul. We must always be ready to preach the word! 2 Timothy 4: 2 -4

2 Timothy 4: 2 -4 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
