Philips Foundation & Refugees • Philips Foundation – charity registered in 2014 and Chaired by Ronald de Jong, Member of the Philips Executive Board • Ronald de Jong made these commitments at the Dutch Business Summit on Refugees: • Partner with Hospitainer to provide • Medical equipment for a 50 bed field hospital • Primary Care & Mother & Child Care dpt in the Al-Hol refugee camp in Syria • Medical equipment to more than 70, 000 people in desperate need • Partner with Fermes d’Avenir to support refugees arriving in Europe and provide • Education on French Healthcare systems and on healthy nutrition habits of local food • In addition to already established programs offering refugees training and mentoring support • Philips will collaborate with the TENT Partnership for Refugees to strive provide: • Workplaces for 100 refugees over a 5 year period (2019 -2024)

What has Philips achieved so far? • Setup an infrastructure in The Netherlands -> hired 19 refugees since April 2019 on both full-time and Contingent contracts • Explore legislative landscape Germany, Latin America • Partnering with peer MNC’s (Randstad Group, Accenture etc. ) • Randstad supporting training and mentoring • Accenture providing course

How can Philips UKI achieve this? • Very early exploratory stages • Looked at partnering with charities that support refugees back in to employment • Currently have more questions than answers on the “How” • Where next? • Raise awareness of initiative and understand the best ways to engage with Refugees • Work in collaboration with external bodies to support Refugees with Language and Industrial skills • Establish the best ways to support Refugees to apply for suitable roles • Raise internal awareness and support Hiring Managers in their consideration of Refugees • Identify the best roles that will provide enhanced integration and the best use of current skills • Plan how to hire and then support the Refugees once they are employed by Philips • How can you help? • Provide an interface to refugees, eligible to work @ Philips • Your expertise, contacts and knowledge • Have you seen this done before? • Can you see it working with Philips? • What should we consider?
