EARLY YEARS • 1912 enrolled in an art academy in Barcelona • 1912 -20 Miro painted landscapes, figures, and still life • 1919 Moved to Paris and joined the Surrealists • 1926 collaborated with Max Ernst on Diaghilev’s ballet set design, developed Grattage • His own work was increasingly biomorphic and innovative
