INTRODUCTION Name : - ROCKS Seminar on : - CMM level
CMM is developed by the Software Engineering Institute(SEI) of the Carnegie Mellon University. CMM is used for improving software project. CMM is describes an evolutionary improvement path for software organizations from an ad hoc, immature process to a mature, disciplined one. CMM Provides guidance on how to gain control of processes for developing and maintaining software and how to evolve toward a culture of software engineering and management excellence.
In this level few processes are defined and individual efforts are taken. Software process characterized as adhoc and occasionally even chaotic.
Repeatable level is basic project management processes are established to track cost, schedule and functionality. Depending on earlier successes of project with Similar applications necessary process discipline can be repeated.
The process is standardized, documented and followed. All the projects use documented and approved version of software process which is useful in developing and supporting software.
In managed level both software process and product are quantitatively understood and controlled using detailed measures.
Optimizing establish mechanisms to plan and implement change. Innovatives ideas and technologies can be tested.
