Recommendations for Guidelines and Procedures When the IEC TC 100 AGS met in Tel Aviv they discussed how accessibility may be an aspect, among others, for consideration during standards development. n AGS requested the IEC TC 100 Advisory Group on Management (AGM), in 100/AGM(Secr. )693, consider security and accessibility for the TC 100 Guidelines and Procedures. Recommendations for Guidelines and Procedures n [1] The security aspects are addressed In 100/AGS(Secr. )376 by J. Yoshio and R. Atarashi which report on the IEC TC 100 ad hoc on security recommendations for Clause 9. 4 and Annex F, respectively, of the IEC TC 100 Guidelines and Procedures.

Recommendations for Guidelines and Procedures n “When considering standards development, IEC TC 100 experts should consider IEC/TR 62678 (proposed) which provides information on accessibility and usability terms, activities, completed and ongoing standards, TRs, projects, and user needs that may or may not apply to audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment.
Recommendations for Guidelines and Procedures, continued “…The TR includes comments about demographics and public policies and a checklist of accessibility and usability considerations. n Industry experts may or may not apply the information in the TR when they evaluate opportunities to integrate support for accessibility and usability in their work. ” n
