Hi Year Four, Mrs Mills here! Here is your maths planning for the week ahead. You are all going to be working on fractions so you will need your Power Maths books and access to the internet so you can watch the video links. I will also upload the Power Maths answer book so you can check your work as you go along. If there is anything that you don’t understand, don’t panic. We can go over it together during our Teams meeting on either Thursday or Friday and you can ‘purple pen’ your work. Don’t forget that you can email me toomrsmills@brize- norton. oxon. sch. uk

Monday 18 th and Tuesday 19 th January Lesson Objective: I can simplify a given fraction. Get Ready! For these lessons, you need to be able to divide so if you have any counters, marbles, lego pieces, pencils, dried pasta etc. handy, it may be worth grabbing them now. You can then use these as your ‘concrete resources’. Just don’t use sweets as the temptation to eat them may be too great and then you’ll be in a muddle! Hehe! Alternatively, drawing pictures to represent your thoughts is also a great strategy so grab your exercise book and be creative.
