Motivation From ISO/TC 197 perspective, GTR must be ü Accurate, ü Unambiguous / precise, ü Complete, ü Assertive, and ü Harmonized as much as possible with ISO/TC 197 standard documents. 2

Objectives of this Presentation q Present examples of the clauses of the “Text of the Regulation” or “Statement of technical rationale and justification (Preamble)” where the current text may benefit from improvement and achieve better harmonization with the ISO/TC 197 standard documents; q Receive the mandate from the IWG to ISO/TC 197 to develop proposals for corrective actions in the format of an ISO-type template for discussion at the next IWG meeting(s) and subsequent inclusion into the next edition of the GTR if approved by the IWG. 3
