Counselors’ Role at FUHS The Counselors are here for … o Academic Counseling o College & Career Counseling o Personal/Social Counseling We meet with each student for their grade level Counseling appointment. Parents are welcome to attend. n n n n Seniors – August through September Juniors – September through November Freshmen – November through January Sophomores – January through March (parent request) Registration – February through March April – Smarter Balance Testing May – AP/IB Testing Every Counselor schedules their own appointments. We have an open door policy where students and parents are welcome to drop in. Appointments are helpful.

Encourage your student to write down their homework assignments in their planner. You can reinforce this by checking their planner daily. o Ask for Help! If your student is not clear on an assignment or needs help, ask the teacher. It is also helpful to have to contact info for at least 2 students in each class.
