Chapter Involvement – 2020 -2021 plans Weeks of Welcome Event – SSP Social The purpose of this event is to allow incoming first years the opportunity to socialize and get to know their classmates, as well as the OMS-II students. This opportunity will be primarily used to explain the mission of Sigma Phi and to reiterate that it is a resource for the OMS-I students to utilize. Specialty Organization Liaisons OMS-II students in Sigma Phi with additional affiliations in other organizations will be selected in order to facilitate communication between the institution's Specialty Organizations and Sigma Phi. In selecting a liaison for each organization, Sigma Phi will be notified in the event other clubs require additional resources or volunteers to assist in the respective events. The objective is to facilitate communication and fellowship within the institution, while ultimately providing an effective method to provide comprehensive academic support.

Chapter Involvement – 2020 -2021 plans “Guide through OMS-I” Document OMS-II members will provide guidance and feedback regarding the various experiences of OMS-I. The results will be compiled into a comprehensive list of advice for incoming OMS-I students Guidance documents will be provided for: Medical school in general, blocks 14, procedural skills and standardized patient encounters. A similar document with information from OMS-III/IV students will also be created to offer guidance to OMS-II students regarding board preparation, clinical rotation sites, and advice for blocks 5 -8.
