Emily Davison was born in England in 1872 and grew up with her parents.
When Emily was young education was seen as more important for boys than girls.
Women could not vote in elections. Women could not own houses. Emily joined the Suffragettes, who wanted to get votes for women.
Emily went to prison nine times for protesting.
In 1913, when she was 40, she ran out in front of the King’s horse and died.
What Emily Davison and the Suffragettes did helped to get votes for women in England.
