Art - Mrs. Cowman Traveling to all classrooms this year, I will meet with grades 6 -8 weekly and grades K-5 bi-weekly. While our projects and objectives will vary by grade, all students will be participating in important visual arts learning activities. Some of these include: v v v Understanding and applying media, techniques, and processes Using knowledge of Design Elements and Principles Choosing and evaluating various subjects, symbols, and ideas Understanding the visual arts in relation to history and cultures Evaluating and critiquing existing works of art Making connections between visual arts and other disciplines

Music- Mrs. Smith K-2 This music program is age-appropriate and sequential. Over the course of the school year, the following skills are learned, reinforced, and expanded upon with more complexity over time. Although each weekly lesson has a main focus with clear objectives; elements from most, if not all, of the categories are touched upon each time. Therefore, this is the general list that includes the material that K-2 students at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School will study. Technology- Mr. Richardson K- 5 Computer class is based almost exclusively on projects. This gives students the opportunity to practice technology skills in a more realistic setting. In grades K-3 this involves a lot of play, and in 4 th and 5 th grades the projects are more structured Five Important Points l l All students need to have headphones; 5 th graders need a flash drive with a minimum of 2 gig K-3 has one 30 minute class a week, 4 th and 5 th have two 30 minute classes a week Typing is formally taught in 4 th grade (after this your student is expected to type their own papers) Computer class is not the only time your students use their technology skills- We have two traveling labs that go to classrooms as well

Technology- Mr. Richardson 6 -8 Computer class is based on project work and a daily grade. This gives the students the opportunity to practice technology skills as well as improve their project management skills. The projects canvas a wide array of software and focuses on choosing the best tools as well as choosing work flow. Five Important Points l l All students need a flash drive and a set of headphones The students see me twice a week for a total of 60 minutes of instruction Skills covered: word processing, spreadsheets, creating presentations, video editing, photo editing, animation, using the internet, file management, etc. These skills are also covered when teachers use the traveling computer labs
