Excavation of accumulated sediment or removal of brush or debris from within 50 feet of the inlet and outlet sides of a drainage pipe, culvert or bridge within the DOT Drainage Right-of-Way. v Any sediment, brush, or debris generated by removal activities must be disposed of at a DOT approved upland disposal site. v Low flow channels shall be maintained in existing condition to maintain natural substrate. Only brush and debris impeding flow can be removed. v Beaver Dam removal is included under this activity but must be coordinated with OEP prior to commencing work. 2. Repair of erosion damage (repair of riprap areas). v Areas were riprap will be placed shall first be accurately shaped, with bedding material installed where required. v In perennial streams, rounded stone/parent material shall be placed over the riprap to a depth of 6”. v Riprap placement shall be minimized to the greatest extent practicable v Maximum of 50 cubic yards shall be placed within the wetland or watercourse limits.

Not allowed for pipes carrying a watercourse v Temporary placement of fill within the wetland or watercourse limits is authorized for up to 50 cubic yards. v Crane mats may be placed within a wetland for up to 50 feet in length. v Debris shields must be used. v All temporary impacts must be restored to original conditions upon completion of the work.

Replacement of a culvert or bridge which receives drainage from a watershed of one sq. mile or less; provided any such activity is accomplished within 3 days or less and does not involve placement of more than 50 cubic yards of fill into wetlands or watercourses. v Bridge Safety Inspection must indicate replacement is warranted. v In kind replacement with no significant change to size or location of the structure. v Contributing watershed must be less than 1 square mile.

Drainage Maintenance Plan Coordination Procedures for Coverage under the Permit: v Designated Rail Engineer

Drainage Maintenance Plan Coordination Procedures for Coverage under the Permit: v Designated Rail Engineer (TBD by the Office of Rails) shall submit a PNDF to OEP for each project. Appropriate documentation detailing the scope of work shall accompany the PNDF. v A member of OEP will review the associated documentation and verify that the activity qualifies for the DMP. v OEP shall delineate wetland watercourse limits prior to beginning work at any location. v Designated Rail Engineer shall collect and record all pertinent information for future submittal to DEEP. v For any upland disposal sites, a request must be submitted to OEP for review and approval prior to use.

Drainage Maintenance Plan Coordination Record Keeping / Reporting • Need to keep track of the following permitted activities… – Date and location where each activity was completed. – Quantities of materials placed or removed as per the authorization. For example, » amount of sediment / debris removed from within 50 -feet of a drainage outlet. » 50 -cubic yards of riprap placed along eroded slope embankment or placed for drainage outlet protection. • Information shall be reported to the designated Rail Engineer, then submitted to OEP for review no later than the 15 th of January and OEP forwards to DEEP for processing in order to meet January 30 th deadline.
