First Semester Community Service
Intro Welcome to my community service presentation! The Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow program requires us to help serve the community on a regular basis as a part of the class. The purpose of this presentation is to show you what I have done throughout the year.
September-January ● ● ● Kick-Off Council Person: Assisted in organizing the freshman orientation day, as well as organizing Patriot Primetimes throughout the year. Teacher Welcome Back Breakfast: Helped serve the teachers a full Panera Breakfast, as well as setting up, and making welcome back banners. Kick-Off Day: A “mock” school day for the freshman class, mingling with their mentors and new peers. Homecoming Planning: Assisting in planning the school homecoming dance and planning all details. “Pledge to Play”: A day for children to come and do crafts, activities, etc. All money was donated to Roc. Solid, a cancer organization. ● Leadership Workshop Staff: Coordinated a workshop that enhances leadership skills, and grows students knowledge of themselves and others.
Second Semester Community Service
February-May ● ● First Colonial Leadership Workshop: A weekend where students are able to grow in themselves and leadership skills. Student-Teacher Pie to the Face Fundraiser: Over one week, students were able to donate money to see their teacher pied in the face. All money went to Rocsolid, cancer organization for kids. Kick-Off Council Member: Assisted in organizing the freshman orientation day, as well as organizing Patriot Primetimes throughout the year Trantwood Breakfast: Assisted in helping with kids during a yearly breakfast done with Trantwood Elementary.
