WHY DO WE DO C. I. T. Y. ? • Better prepare students for the workplace • Provide specialized training programs • Provide on the job training for students for completion of pathway education.

WHAT IS C. I. T. Y. ? Summer Internship Program for Rising Seniors Which includes: • Minimum 10 -15 hour work week (paid or unpaid) • Class at California Lutheran University • Workplace Mentor • High School and/or College Credit • Insurance coverage

WHY BUSINESSES DO C. I. T. Y. • Access to qualified applicant pool • Introduce students to your business • Build morale among employees • Generate positive publicity and PR • Develop new projects with students

HOW DO YOU BECOME A BUSINESS PARTNER? • Decide to make a difference in a young person’s life • Choose Internship length: • June 18 -August 10 – Eight Week Internship (Min. 10 hr/wk) • July 2 – July 27 – Four Week Internship (Min. 15 hr/wk)

HOW DO YOU BECOME A BUSINESS PARTNER? • Design a job description and decide how many interns • By March 8 - Complete commitment form with a detailed job description @ www. toaks. org/city

HOW DO YOU BECOME A BUSINESS PARTNER? • On March 12 – Participate in Internship Fair and meet eligible candidates • By April 15 – Receive Intern Applications from Program Administrator • By May 15 – Make final decision on selection(s)

HOW DO YOU BECOME A BUSINESS PARTNER? • June 10 – Complete workplan, Workplace Agreement, and schedule with Your Intern(s) • July 27 – Attend Commencement • August 15 – Complete Intern Evaluation(s)
