Projection for Fall 2017 to Fall 2018 retention: Based on Fall 2017 first-year academic profile and historical retention rates, overall first-year retention rate will not rise significantly unless we improve retention rates for students in the HSA < 85 group

Funding request: Title III (US Department of Education) • Strengthen student services: o use predictive analytics to establish affinity groups/cohorts o inform holistic coaching strategies o automate detection of early alert triggers to activate proactive intervention • Strengthen academic services: o major-specific intrusive advising strategies o discipline specific targeted tutoring o develop supplemental instructional modules to enhance achievement in gateway courses DECLINED
SUNY Performance Improvement Fund PIF Completion Coaching – A. Woznik • Strengthen academic and social support at the SUNY campus serving the largest population of first-generation, under-represented students in a growing urban area • Provide tailored assistance to under-prepared students • Reduce the number of students on academic probation after the first semester • Provide students with a single point of contact to help them transition to college academics, establish a plan for graduation in four years, and address learning, social, and financial challenges AWARDED $220, 500
