The Mid-Term Progress Report (Design Specifications) n Before the mid-term project presentation, students are required to submit a mid-term progress report and design specifications to the project supervisor.

What will be included in the report? This report should cover the design specifications including The algorithm n Programming and database design. n Also, the students have to report on their progress and achievement. n

Guidelines to the Content of the Progress Report § § § Aims of the project (specially any change from the original aims) Works have been carried up to the date The system design and the block diagram of the system, plus some brief descriptions on theory.

Guidelines to the Content of the Report Design specification n Input/Output specification n Data Flow diagram, ER diagram, Flow chart n Database design n Implementation techniques

Report Guidelines q Difficulties encountered and the measures taken to solve it. q Proposed time table for the rest of the work up to the end of the project q Difficulties expected in the coming period.

Executive Summary q q Propose a project scheduling and planning for the next phase of the project Summarize the major issues, conclusions and follow up actions being discussed in each meeting with project supervisors Discuss matters relating to the time management and cost estimation for the next phase of the project Meeting minutes of the project meetings with supervisors should be included in the appendix of the mid-term progress report.

Information to Students Please keep soft-copies for your – Project Proposals – Mid-term Progress Report – Source Code – Final Project Report – User Manual – Meeting minutes * You have to submit a CD-ROM (include all the above files) to the department before final presnetation & demonstration

Other Remarks q. Please submit a draft of the Midterm progress report to your project supervisor to have further review before final submission !
