During this unit, you will be keeping a journal that will be a major part of your mark. This journal can be kept in: § A scribbler § A duo-tang § Loose-leaf that has been stapled together (if you choose this method, make sure not to loose any of the pages!) § On the computer if you have your own device that you can bring into class (other than a phone).
§ Fill out “Worksheet 2. ” Be prepared to share this with your classmates. (you have 5 minutes) § In your rows, compare your sheets. How are the same? How are they different? Be prepared to share your answers with the whole class. (you have 5 minutes) § In your row, develop a definition for the word CULTURE. It must be in your own words. § Share your definitions with your side of the classroom. Come up with one definition that the whole group can agree with. Choose one person to read it out to the class.

§ Read the scenario and answer the questions on a scrap piece of paper. § Discuss your answers. Were they the same or different? § Answer the following question in a paragraph (5 sentences) on a sheet of loose-leaf (be prepared to share your answers): What would you do if the Aliens took over Canada and the U. S. and created “the Human Race Act” which forced you to dramatically change the way in which you live your life? § Hand this in before the end of the class.
