PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING • The schedule developed by the School Leadership Team is based on direct feedback from students, parents, and school staff and reflects the collective feedback of all stakeholders. • No schedule has been approved at this time – and it is very possible that our school-developed plan may be rejected by the Department of Education • Our school is embracing a belief that September will prove to be a definitive month as to how events will evolve – it is for this reason that we believe in embracing a cautious approach for the first 15 instructional days – we intend on reassessing at the end of September.

OTHER ASPECTS OF THE SCHOOL DAY UNDER PROPOSED SCHEDULE • Classes held in regular classrooms would be scheduled to have nine students each day (there may be some cases where this number will be 10). Classes in general will be scheduled for 25% of their normal capacity (34/4 = 8. 5 students for a traditional class… 50/4 = 12. 5 for Phys. Ed. Music classes). • All clubs and/or extra curricular activities will be conducted virtually - students will have to exit the building at the end of the school day. • Phys. Ed. Classes will be conducted outdoors in a manner that does not require students to change clothes – plans are being developed to determine what this would look like and what to do on days with inclement weather. • • • Student locker rooms will be decommissioned – no students will be permitted to enter either locker room. Students will not have lunch in the student cafeteria – all students will have their lunch in one of their classes. Our proposal will include a dedicated “study hall” period. Students will be permitted to remain outside the school building during this period – and plans are being developed for days with inclement weather.

CONTINUED… • No science labs, in the conventional sense, will be permitted – we are awaiting clarification as to what science labs may look like from NYSED. Preliminary documents release speak to “virtual” labs – more to follow. • All classes will have to be conducted in a manner that ensures that students remain socially distant. Students will have to remain in the locations assigned to them in each classroom. • • • All staff and students will be required to wear masks while in the building. • All meetings between a school staff member and a student/parent will be held virtually (with the exception of anyone wishing to speak to an administrator). • • Rooms on the CUNY campus are being explored for both student use and staff use – more to follow. The temperature of students and staff will be taken at building entry each morning. Many classes, by their very nature, will have to transition significantly in how they are to be conducted – (All Music classes will transition to a Music Theory structure – no singing and no instrument playing can be permitted / Art will transition to an Art History format – students cannot engage in activities that have them share and exchange items – other classes will have to transition in similar ways as well). School staff members have requested remote accommodations – this could include teachers of classes
