Example of the build up Excitedly, Sally set off on the short walk to her school. She was thinking about what the day ahead might bring, she had lots of her favourite subjects to look forward to. But then again they were all her favourite subjects. As she entered the park, Sally stood as she usually did and listened to the sounds of the birds in the trees. The park was always the best part of her walk. It was so peaceful. As she walked, Sally could see that there was something under one of the trees, it looked like a toy, thinking that someone had dropped something she walked towards it. Suddenly she stopped dead, the thing was moving. With caution, Sally approached as quietly as she could. Eventually, she could see that the bundle was actually a bird. It had blue wings and a yellow head and had obviously fallen form the and was injured. Panic rose in Sally’s stomach. She did not know what she should do. If she stopped to help the bird she would be late for school but if she left the poor little creature it might die. Sally felt stuck between her two favourite things.
