LANTERN LANE ELEMENTARY HISTORY Founded in 1978, Lantern Lane is nestled in the middle to upper class, Quail Valley community in Missouri City, Texas. 7 principals have operated the school since its origination. The first coach is still employed at Lantern Lane Elementary which speaks to its great ability to retain nurturing staff members.

LANTERN LANE ELEMENTARY TODAY Students are met daily with the smiling faces of approximately 62 members of the Lantern Lane team. All teachers are Highly Qualified with certification in two or more subject areas. Length of service for teachers ranges from 1 to 30+ years of service.

LANTERN LANE ASSESSMENT DATA This year students are Stepping Up to the STAAR test. Last year our students in 3 rd- 6 th grade knocked the new state assessment out of the park in Math with 85% of students meeting standard. In Reading, 84% met standard. Results are preliminary - Standards are being set by the Texas Education Agency.
