A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME: • 13 th year in education • A parent with elementary, high school and university age children. • Kindergarten to 6 th grade. • Specialize in special needs and disabilities • ASM since Novemeber of 2015 • Have 4 children, 1 in University in NJ and 3 at ASM, 1 elementary, 1 Middle, 1 High School

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS ◦ Follow class rules and routines ◦ Treat others with respect ◦ Complete homework ◦ Outline of what we’ll be learning for the week ◦ Homework will be sent home daily in order to monitor student’s progress ◦ Based on skills we learn that day ◦ Graded and returned on Fridays ◦ If homework is not completed students will be given another day to complete PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD IS HAVING DIFFICULTIES ◦ Participate in class discussions ◦ 6 Pillars of Character

This year, we’re using Class. Dojo to build our classroom community and to share daily behavior points We’ll build a positive culture where students are engaged, encouraged, and love learning! All parents are part of our classroom community, seeing what we’re learning!

How we’ll use Class. Dojo As a teacher, I will: • Dojo points for behavior • Post Class Story • Photos and videos of classroom activities • Send private messages to keep you in the loop! Students can: • Share classwork on their own digital portfolio • Only family members will be able to view their work

ELA and Math Test and Quiz • Outline sent home and posted on Plus Portal • Testing doesn’t allow students to study • Based on Read-alouds and comprehension • Lot’s of new vocabulary • Skills learned in class and HW activities • Grade will be posted on Plus Portal • Math based on how students apply strategies learned in class and practice for HW • RDW
