V Once upon a time, there was a little boy called Jack and his mother were very poor. All they had was an old cow.
V One day, Jack’s mum told him to go and sell the cow at the market.
V On the way, Jack met a little old man who wanted to buy the cow. “I’ll give you five magic beans for the cow, ” he told Jack.
V When Jack got home, he showed his mum the beans. She was so cross she threw them out of the window and sent Jack to bed without any dinner.
V During the night, the magic beans grew and grew into a massive beanstalk that reached high into the sky!
V When Jack woke up, he saw the beanstalk and decided to climb up it. He climbed and he climbed until he reached the very top where he saw a huge castle.
V Jack crept inside. Suddenly, the floor began to shake and Jack heard a booming voice. “Fee fi fo fum I smell the blood of an Englishman. Be he alive or be he dead I’ll grind his bones to make my bread!”
V It was a terrifying giant! Jack ran and hid in a cupboard.
V He watched as the giant ate an enormous breakfast. First, he ate 3 sheep. Then, he ate 2 pigs. Next, he ate 4 loaves of bread!
V After that, the giant called for his hen. Jack watched as the hen laid a shiny, golden egg.
V At that moment, the giant fell asleep, so Jack crept out of the cupboard and picked up the giant’s hen.
V Suddenly, the giant woke up! “Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!” he shouted.
V Jack ran back to the beanstalk and climbed down as fast as he could. The giant was chasing him!
V When Jack reached the bottom, he picked up a sharp axe and chopped down the beanstalk.
V The giant fell to the ground with a THUD! That was the end of him!
V Every day, the hen laid a shiny golden egg and Jack and his mother were never poor again. They lived happily ever after. The End.
