Toujia Elementary School is in Taiwan, near the city of Taichung.

The school has over 2200 students in grades 1 -6.

The school is very large!

There is even a swimming pool! Students take swim class once a week. There is also a swim team.

The students must wear uniforms.

Every day, the students take a 45 min. nap after lunch. The teachers nap, too!

Students are responsible for cleaning the entire school. There are three cleaning times a day.

Lunches are prepared at school. Students eat lunch in their classrooms.

The school schedules depend on what grade the students are in. • The school day is Monday-Friday, from 7: 30 am to 4: 00 pm. • 1 st and 2 nd grade students go home early (12: 40 pm) every day except Tuesday. • 3 rd and 4 th grade students go home early on Wednesdays and Thursdays. • 5 th and 6 th grade students only go home early on Wednesdays.

After the regular school day, many students go to “cram schools”, or private schools that specialize in one subject. It is common for students to stay there until 6 pm.
