THE THREE WISE MEN, THREE CAMELS AND A DROMEDARY
Once upon a time there were three camels and a dromedary. They belonged to the Three Wise Men. The dromedary was always alone. The camels didn’t love him because he had only a hump “half a camel” They called him. And he was very sad.
One evening, the Three Wise Men went into the stable very quickly. They took out the camels, rode on them and followed a bright star. The dromedary stayed in the stable. He was alone and very sad, but suddenly an angel came into the stable and said very angry, pointed at three parcels on the floor:
“What a silly Kings! They’ve forgotten the presents” “You will take them”. “Go, look for the camels, and give the presents to the Kings. You all have to be in Bethlehem at midnight”.
“But that is too far”. The dromedary said. “That’s true”. “But the camels have got two humps and you only one, so you are faster”. The angel said.
The dromedary rushed out, and while he was running the parcels on his hump were playing to make a magic trick that the Three Kings had taught them: they poured the gold, the incense and the myrrh they had inside on the dromedary and they never emptied.
The dromedary caught the Three Wise Men up near Bethlehem. The three camels, dirty and tired, admired that wonderful animal: his fur was golden and he smelled so well!
That night, when the Three Kings gave their presents to Baby Jesus, there weren’t three camels behind them. There was a dromedary!.
