Thank God only, commend the giver
This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 2 Cor 9: 12 -13

As of October 3, $1 million has been donated to help make Hope Commons the new launching pad for Desiring God. Please join us in praising God for this good and timely provision from his hand.
We are blessed to have you come alongside us and labor in this work! We continually praise God for not turning His eyes from the broken people we serve day in and day out, and we are thankful that He’s given YOU eyes to see the need as well. When your gift was received we gave thanks to God for your continued partnership and know that this gift will be put to use for His glory.

What has happened in the last 48 hours?
October is Clergy Appreciation Month, and your gift is enabling us to come alongside ministers of the Gospel with a helping hand a word of encouragement. Consider the following note of acknowledgement from one hard-working pastor: “Thank you for helping to make our week-long retreat possible! After over a decade of international and local missions, my wife and I really didn’t know if we could go on. The hurt we’ve carried from years of ministering to people in intense pain was taking its toll on us. Not only did this retreat provide us with much-needed rest and healing, but it also served to renew our marriage and to better equip us to raise our children. You’ve played a significant role in restoring and strengthening our spirits. ” (Written by Focus on the Family)

Welcome
Welcome 1) Let the champion know what kind of relationship to expect.
Dear John, “Welcome to our community that is dedicated to placing all of Colorado’s foster kids with permanent loving families. We praise God for your concern and interest in this cause! Your gift is a wonderful witness to the grace of God in your life and know that it was no accident you gave in this way, in this time. In fact, your gift helps us to work with another family to place a child on our waiting list into a good home…
Welcome 2) Ask about their interests via a survey.
Surveys
To get started, I’d like to ask you to fill out the enclosed survey. It’s very short, but will be extremely helpful in how we work together going forward. You can return it in the enclosed envelope.
Welcome 3) Provide a multipurpose, cause -centric, “tool. ”
Finally, I’ve also enclosed a helpful infographic. It’s a great tool we use to help people understand the cause in very visual and simple way. I send this to you to give you a better glimpse of this important cause, but also I’ll challenge you to take it to work, or to school, or to your next small group meeting and share it with at least one other person. You may be opening their eyes to a whole new world!
