Definition of Socialization (114) The lifelong process in which an individual learns the values and norms of a society or social group. Socialization teaches you to value and do things that you would not naturally do v Example: Say “thank you” when someone hands you something v Example: Cover your mouth when you cough
Norms vs. Values (thoughts) What is considered good and right Acts as a guide for how people should think, believe and act Example 1: Personal space Your values determine your actions or vice versa?
