Shakespearian Pop-Sonnet • In your groups of 3 -4, read the two sonnets your group was given and verbally translate each sonnets theme. You may also refer to www. shakespeare-online. com/sonnets/ for assistance with the translation. • Once your group has identified the meaning of the sonnet, you must choose ONE you will use for this assignment. Keep in mind you will need to find a popular song which has a similar theme.

Shakespearian Pop-Sonnet continued… • Once you have chosen your sonnet, write down the website translation, and then as a group you need to translate each line into present day words you would use. (Translating the translation. Or in other words…high school lingo) • Next, your groups task is to find a song which has the same/similar theme or meaning. • Using at least 7 lines of the sonnet, your group must create a scene which follows the plot structure outline. **You will have other dialogue, but must include 7 lines from your sonnet. Your song will be used to introduce and conclude your scene. • Make sure your lyrics are School Appropriate!
