What are our school rules? • Our school rules were reviewed at the beginning

What are our school rules? • Our school rules were reviewed at the beginning of this school year. • Our school rules are ‘Ready, respectful, safe. ’ • Today we are going to think about each part of our school rules in turn and give examples of what it looks like when people are following the rule. • Think about how may times a day you hear all rules (when we are all in school). They are mentioned in every assembly and all adults in school refer to them throughout the day.

Ready • What does the ready rule mean to you? Can you think of

Ready • What does the ready rule mean to you? Can you think of any examples of what a ready learner looks like? What does it look like when learners are ready in class/school? • E. g. Ready means that you are ready for anything you need to do during the school day. This could be ready to listen to instructions, ready to help your peers or ready to eat your lunch. • Challenge 1 -Write about your own ready example. • Challenge 2 -Write about your own ready example linking to experiences or examples you have seen in school.

Respectful • What does the respectful rule mean to you? Can you think of

Respectful • What does the respectful rule mean to you? Can you think of any examples of what a respectful learner looks like? What does it look like when learners are respectful in class/school? • E. g. Respectful means you show respect to adults and peers in school. This could be by listening to what they have to say, waiting for your turn or following instructions. • Challenge 1 -Write about your own respectful example. • Challenge 2 -Write about your own respectful example linking to experiences or examples you have seen in school.

I believe the school rules are effective because they are easy to remember. No one has an excuse to forget them - it’s only three words! • Do you have any ideas for helping your peers remember and keep the rules? • E. g. I think we should create a rap to help the younger children remember the rules and what they mean.
